About Green Tech Skillnet
Green Tech Skillnet is a business network for companies of all sizes in the Irish renewable energy industry and green technology sectors. The network is co-funded by Skillnet Ireland. Green Tech Skillnet supports the optimisation of renewables on the Irish grid through learning and development initiatives.
The Challenge
Green Tech Skillnet members required training to be able to safely operate electrical equipment. The topics were highly specialised due to member duties often being carried out on offshore wind farms. The main objectives were to identify hazards and dangers associated with high voltage and understand the importance of using correct lockout and tagout safety procedures.
The Solution
The Learning Rooms worked with Green Tech Skillnet, Wind Energy Ireland and Subject Matter Experts from H&MV Engineering to develop two eLearning courses. The courses were on:
- High Voltage Familiarisation
- LV Isolation / LOTO
Successful learners are awarded a digital badge on successful completion of the end of course assessment.
