The Learning Rooms client, the Nova Scotia Career Development Association (NSCDA), has been awarded Bronze in the ‘Best Learning Technologies Project – Public & Non-Profit Sector’ category at the prestigious Learning Technologies Awards.
The awards ceremony took place in London on 12th November 2025, celebrating outstanding achievements in workplace learning and development from around the world.
About the winning project
The award recognised NSCDA’s Case Management programme, a comprehensive 100-hour certificated course designed to support case managers throughout Nova Scotia and across Canada.
Working closely with NSCDA, The Learning Rooms instructionally designed and developed this online career development programme. The challenge was to transform a resource-intensive course into a self-directed and scalable digital product, allowing busy professionals to complete their training during downtime and without requiring NSCDA staff to resource the increased demand.
The solution involved redesigning many of the original assignments into online quizzes, scenario-based assessments and case studies that could be graded instantly. We also incorporated reflective exercises and journaling activities to boost learner engagement and improve knowledge retention.

What the judges said
The Learning Technologies Awards judges praised the project for its exemplary approach to learning design. Their comments highlighted:
- A clear focus on addressing a very specific skills shortage
- An exemplary process from analysis to evaluation
- Strong stakeholder involvement throughout
- Enthusiasm from the presenters
As the judges noted, “This project clearly addressed a very specific skills shortage and the process followed, from analysis to evaluation, including the involvement of stakeholders, was an exemplary example of learning design best practice.”
A proud partnership
The Learning Rooms are incredibly proud to have partnered with NSCDA on this project. Seeing their dedication to professional development recognised on an international stage is a wonderful achievement, and we’re honoured to have played a part in bringing this programme to life.
Congratulations to the entire NSCDA team on this well-deserved recognition!
