The Challenge

OneLearning and the IPA needed an accessible eLearning course with an assessment to inform Civil Servants across Ireland about climate change and to include information about:

  • Climate change
  • The greenhouse effect
  • Ireland’s greenhouse gas emissions
  • The impacts of climate change
  • Key legislation and policy
  • Solutions to climate change
  • Responsibilities of the Public Service

The eLearning course would be hosted on the OneLearning platform and navigation needed to be locked to ensure full completion by the learners.

The Solution

The Learning Rooms developed a 1 hour 10 minute self-paced interactive eLearning course in Articulate Storyline with an assessment at the end.

The Learning Rooms collaborated closely with a subject matter expert in climate change to instructionally design an engaging learning experience, incorporating a range of interactive activities, knowledge checks, animation, scenario-based learning and video.

A call to action for Civil Servants to be change leaders and to recognise their role in reducing carbon emissions was included at the end of the course.
